Donaldson posted videos to YouTube at 13 under the name "MrBeast6000". His first content consisted of Let's Plays and video estimating the wealth other YouTubers. Following the 2017 "Counting to 100,000" video received tens and thousands of views in a matter of days, Donaldson became a YouTube sensation. His first videos included Let's Plays and videos that were a look at the wealth of other YouTubers. Donaldson hired his childhood friends to manage the brand after it started to grow. MrBeast is Donaldson's primary YouTube channel. The channel reached 100,000,000 subscribers on July 28, 2022.
